SCIENCE: unit 4: "Vertebrate animals"

OBJECTIVES:

1. To learn the general characteristics of fish and classify them into groups.
2. To learn the general characteristics of amphibians and classify them into groups.
3. To learn the general characteristics of reptiles and classify them into groups.
4. To learn the general characteristics of birds and classify them into groups.
5. To learn the general characteristics of mammals and classify them into groups.

SCIENCE: unit 3 "Invertebrates"

OBJECTIVES:

1. To Know what an invertebrate is.
2. To recognise the most important invertebrate groups and describe their principal characteristics.
3. To identify the different arthropod groups and their characteristics.
4. To distinguish the different mollusc groups and their characteristics.
5. To use a dichotomous key to identify invertebrates.
6. To encourage the responsible care of all animals.

VISITA ESTEPA-FUENTE PIEDRA

El próximo 15 de noviembre realizaremos una salida a Estepa, donde visitaremos una de sus fábricas de mantecados y Fuente Piedra. La salida del centro será a las 9:00 horas, y la llegada a las 17:00 horas aproximadamente.
Os recomiendo llevar ropa cómoda y comida suficiente para el día.
La salida y llegada será desde el edificio principal del colegio en la  Urbanización Nueva Otura.
No prohibimos que traigáis móviles, cámaras, "dinerillo"...., pero tampoco nos hacemos responsables los maestros/as de su uso, pérdida o deterioro.

PLENO INFANTIL

Os recuerdo que el día 9 de noviembre a las 11:30 h. se celebrará en el Ayuntamiento de Otura un Pleno Infantil, al que asistiréis los alumnos de 5º curso.

Con motivo del Día Internacional de los Derechos de la infancia que se celebra el 20 de noviembre, la Diputación de Granada, la Delegación de educación y la Delegación para la Igualdad y Bienestar social de la Junta de Andalucía, junto con los Ayuntamientos de la provincia, vienen colaborando en un programa conjunto, que se plantea como objetivo general, lograr la mejora de la calidad de vida y el bienestar de la infancia y que este año centra sus actividades a favor de los Derechos de los niños y niñas, bajo el lema:
" Educamos para el respeto y cuidado del Medio Ambiente, un compromiso con la Biodiversidad", aprovechando que el año 2010 ha sido declarado por la ONU: Año Internacional de la Biodiversidad.

ENGLISH

Para repasar los verbos TO BE y HAVE GOT, os recomiendo pinchar en ellos  de vez en cuando y encontraréis actividades útiles que además hemos realizado en clase.

SCIENCE: Unit 2 "Plants"

OBJECTIVES:

1. To distinguish flowering plants and non-flowering plants. (growing)
2. To classify non-flowering plants into mosses and ferns.
3. To classify flowering plants into gymnosperms and angiosperms.
4. To learn how plants manufacture their own food: photosynthesis and respiration.
5. To learn how sexual reproduction takes place in plants and understand its different stages.
6. To understand the forms of asexual reproduction in plants.
7. To identify and classify plants from photos and drawings.
8. To appreciate the importance of plant diversity for the environment.

SCIENCE: Unit 1 "Living things"

CONTENT OBJECTIVES

1. To distinguish living things and non-living things.
2. To learn the characteristics of living things.
3. To describe the life processes of living things.
4. To understand what a cell is and the parts of a cell.
5. To learn the different levels of organisation in living things.
6. To know that living things are classified into different kingdoms.
7. To observe and interpret photographs, drawings and diagrams.
8. To reflect on the need to protect the environment.
